We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
The Declaration of Independence, fireworks, picnics, and family time together. All wonderful parts of today. And yet there is more. The freedom that did not come to us penned by a group of men 241 years ago. Rather it was freedom won for us by one man’s death on a cross that paid for all of our sins. That man was the Son of God, Jesus.

However you celebrate today and even if you do nothing special, remember we are free. Free because our Savior paid for all of our sins. Free to claim our rightful place in heaven someday because of his death. Free to celebrate because we are truly free. That is an incomprehensible freedom!
